That's right – it's August, so of course it's wet and windy! And afraid there's no pretending it's going to get any better later... But it's Wednesday so we're on with another same-same repeat of last week. Meeting by 6.40pm (you know the score now: please don't be late – and be earlier if you need to pump a board up!) for a 6.55pm launch at Mill House (by the Church Road bridge, just beyond CM3 4BG – http://www.supsect.com/mill-house-river-chelmer/). Shortest boards / slowest / newest paddlers off first, then all comers around 7pm and finally raceboarders for 7.05pm (if necessary – obviously if there's only a few of us, evenly matched for pace, we'll stick much closer together!) Again we're looking at least three locks west towards the A12 to turn beyond Cuton Lock probably at the footbridge or even roadbridge if conditions aren't too miserable – but turning for home at 7.50pm. Then back to the Six Bells at 9pm for drinks and fodder...
