A deeply spiritual musician, Azar Lawrence was chosen by McCoy Tyner to replace John Coltrane upon his death, touring and recording with Tyner (Enlightenment, 1973), Miles Davis (Dark Magus, 1974), and Woody Shaw (Moontrane, 1975).

Lawrence's contemporary work is lauded for its compelling artistry and vivid musical color. Canadian Al McLean has fully absorbed and interpreted the rich language of post modern Jazz; his driving style possessing uncanny harmonic depth, and heart.

Lawrence and McLean are backed up by Greg Ritchie on drums, Adrian Vedady on bass, and Paul Shrofel on piano.

Musicien profondément spirituel, Azar Lawrence a été choisi par McCoy Tyner pour remplacer John Coltrane à sa mort. Azar a tourné et enregistré avec Tyner (Enlightenment, 1973), Miles Davis (Dark Magus, 1974), et Woody Shaw (Moontrane, 1975).
