KATA COMPETITION Sunday 7th June 2015 2pm – 5pm Competitors £8.00 - Spectators £3.00 Pent Valley Leisure Centre, Tile Kiln Lane, Folkestone Students will be asked to do 3 katas (Red belt techniques for Junior Novices) Taikyoku sono Ichi is compulsory and then 2 katas of the students choice. The katas can all be the same kata. Categories Junior (under 12 years) Novice - Junior White, Orange and Red 1,2,3 stripe to do 10 kyu on the spot in the correct order. They can do kata if they wish. Category for each of the following belts: Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Brown. Adult Category (16 years +) and Youth Category (12 – 15 years) Category for each set of belts: Red, Blue, Yellow. Green & Brown. Black- (Youth and Adult) Scoring Below is the basic score for each kata. Points are deducted for technical mistakes made and extra points can be added for power and perfection. The student of each category with the highest total score for all three katas will be awarded first place – there are awards for second and third place. 10 kyu 6 points Taikyoku sono Ichi and ni
7 points Taikyoku sono san & pinan ichi 7.5 points
Pinan ni & Pinan San 8 points
Green & Brown belts katas 8.5 points
First dan katas 9 points
Second & Third dan katas 9.5 points
