Festa: Boxing Day Walk 2017

The Boxing Day Walk this year will be a 4 mile circular of Boshaw. There is only one significant hill, which should burn off a few calories. The hill is fairly long but not too steep. The views at the top are worth the effort. Boshaw is visible almost all the way round, and from many different aspects. We will also pass close to the Longley Farm windmill and the Hade Edge weather station. The walk will take about 2-21/4 hours. There are also a couple of opportunities to take a short cut if you don't want to do the full length of the walk.
Conditions underfoot today were very icy, as many of the tracks have been used by tractors and other vehicles compacting the snow. Should the weather forecast be correct, and we have a significant thaw, then it will most likely be very boggy in places.
Walking boots, or wellies essential, and a lead for your dog please.
Friends and family welcome. Please meet at the club ready for a 10.30 start. Afterwards we usually meet for lunch at the Foxhouse. Non walkers are free to join us there at about 1 o'clock. Fingers crossed for a dry day. If very wet then we will cancel or postpone. Please keep an eye on your emails.
