Avisamos-te assim que estiverem disponíveis as fotos da festa.
Sarcoma is very a rare and extremely aggressive form of cancer which over recent years has taken some very special people, far too young. Each year in the UK around 3,800 new cases are diagnosed, representing just 1% of all cancers. Despite being incredibly rare, sarcomas make up 15% of all childhood cancers (0-14 years) and 11% of all cancer diagnoses in teenagers and young people (15-24 years).
As this type of cancer is so rare its often misdiagnosed, or goes by un-diagnosed for too long, significantly reducing their chance of survival. Awareness and research needs to be improved, so we’re raising money for Sarcoma UK – the only charity in the country which focuses on all types of Sarcoma. They are a relatively small charity which receives no government funding, relying soley on dontations and fundraisers.
We think they do incredible work and this has affected a number of young people in Glasgow, we have friends and loved ones that should be on the dancefloor where they belong and aren’t so we want to raise a load of money for them. Let’s help them find a way to stop this disease taking anymore!
To do this we’re hosting a Danceathon at the Flying Duck. There will be some very special live bands, a whole host of the city’s best DJs and much more on offer.
Full details will be announced in the coming weeks but for now this is what you need to know…
The event will take place on Saturday February 20th from 3pm til 3am. If you want to take part find a partner, entrance will cost £15 per pair. One dancer must be on the floor at all times. There will be a prize for the last team dancing!
