With its roots in the villages of Copdock and Washbrook, Copdock Cricket Club was founded in 1839 and will be celebrating its 175th anniversary in 2014. Merged with the Old Ipswichians in 1997, Copdock & Old Ipswichian C.C. is now one of the largest and most successful Clubs in the area. We run four senior men's teams, a Ladies XI and a junior section that sets the standard for junior cricket in Suffolk and beyond.
The 1st XI compete in the elite East Anglian Premier League, representing the highest standard of club cricket it is possible to play. In 2014 our 2nd XI will be seeking promotion from Division Four, and we are introducing a Saturday 3rd XI that will ensure cricket is available for all and provide an invaluable player pathway from junior to senior cricket. Our Sunday XI will also be looking to gain promotion and the Ladies XI will be competing in the Two Counties Ladies Championship.
Often described as the "jewel in our crown" is our phenomenal Junior Section. Having been one of the first clubs in the county to achieve ECB Clubmark accreditation and a Focus club for Suffolk, 2014 will see over 200 young cricketers playing and practising cricket as members of the Club this season.
All this is set in a wonderful ground which now has facilities that are the envy of most in Suffolk cricket. A playing surface fit to stage regular prestige fixtures and a clubhouse set in the landscape of a village setting is a joy to behold.
