Festa: Burning Duck Comedy Club Double Bill - Mat Ewins and Pat Cahill

A double bill of 2 fantastic shows coming to The Basement!

Mat Ewins Will Make You A Star sees our host turn teacher, taking the audience for an hour-long acting seminar that’s heavy on homemade video projections, crowd participation and parody.

Having performed 19,000 times ACROSS 4 SEPARATE COUNTIES; gigging in venues like chip shops and U-boats (and once performing in a packet of Doritos); Mat "York" Ewins returns to the city that gave him his middle name. York.

Ewins will talk of the highs and lows of being A MAJOR HOLLYWOOD STAR AND HE WILL MAKE YOU ONE TOO.

"A mischievous romp – silly right to it’s whimsical core – and a
glorious hour of comedy. Ewins’ manipulation of his technology is
refreshing rather than overbearing, and his attention to detail
magnificent. Sometimes we just want to laugh, and Mat Ewins induces uncontrollable belly aches. We are keeled over, in stitches for the duration of this show"
THE SKINNY ****

‘Everybody knows, it's just the way it goes, all sorts can happen, and that's the way it goes!’ Welcome to D.O.T.T, a box set of optimistic bollocks from Pat Cahill (Nominee Best Show Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival 2016). Will he go behind the candelabra for you? Let you peak inside his velvet curtains? One thing's for sure, from start to finish he’ll mean well, and no matter what happens, you can bet your life he'll enjoy it!

"Pat's here to share his heritage via 92 morris dancing tunes from the Norfolk Fens. But what's that? His iPod's packed up and there might have to be a bit of standup to fill in his time...

But in the face of adversity, Cahill shifts a particularly fine stand
up set instead. Overall an oddball gem." Fest

‘Delicious, silly and surreal underbelly’ (Leicester Mercury).
‘True star quality’ (Evening Standard).
**** (Time Out, Top Ten comedy shows 2015).
