Lazy Day began life just over a year ago as the solo bedroom project of Tilly Scantlebury, formerly a member of London/Brighton indie-rock outfit Hella Better Dancer. Self-recording her tracks on Garageband, she quickly gained extensive attention from the likes of Line of Best Fit who shared ‘With My Mind’ and praised it as “evoking a lush dream-pop shadowland”. After finding a full band, Lazy Day took to the studio to record their latest track, 'Portrait.' Premiered by DIY who described it as a “sharp, affected burst of energy” - ‘Portrait’ is a Record Store Day release with Scottish act Tuff Love via Lost Map Records. The studio polish didn't take away from the emotional heft though - ‘Portrait’ is a stormy swirl of moaning pitch-bended riffs and vaporous vocals - the band's first effort is a rich artistic performance. Their live show is raucous and captivating, and not to be missed.
