Festa: Jake Johannsen USA features Adelaide Comedy

Jake Johannsen holds one of the most enviable records in comedy – he made more appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman than any other comedian. American comedian, Johannsen’s “subtle and intelligent comedic style” has seen him perform his own comedy specials for HBO, Showtime and Comedy Central; and his 1992 television show, This’ll Take About An Hour, was named by TV Guide as one of the 100 Greatest Moments in Television of that year.

A favourite at comedy festivals worldwide, Johannsen makes regular appearances at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and the Cat Laughs Festival in Kilkenny.

At the Cat Laughs Festival, Johannsen became good buddies with former Spicks and Specks host Adam Hills, who immediately offered to bring Jake to Melbourne to make his Melbourne International Comedy Festival debut this year. Now thanks to Adam we are bringing him to Adelaide.

Hills explains that Jake never fails to make him laugh out loud in an embarrassing way, “He is one of the loveliest, smartest, and straight out funniest comedians I’ve worked with, and I want everyone to see him.”
