WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38KOs) is usually not the type to make predictions, but he told reporters in the Philippines that he wants to end the undefeated run of Chris Algieri (20-0, 8KOs) in the first six rounds of their upcoming HBO Pay-Per-View fight, taking place on November 23rd (AEST) from the Cotai Arena in Macau, China.

"We are scheduled to fight for twelve rounds but that’s just too long,” Pacquiao was quoted by Tempo during the arrival of some media people to his home in General Santos City. “Six rounds [or less] will be enough."

A bold statement by the champion. Pacquiao has gone without a stoppage victory since a 2009 twelfth round TKO of Miguel Cotto. Algieri also has a very good chin and recently displayed the ability to overcome adversity.

Back in June he survived a very tough first round against the dangerous Ruslan Provodnikov. He went down twice in the first, his eye was swollen shut by the second, and he still fought his way to a twelve round decision to capture the WBO title at 140-pounds.
