Festa: Maifest

Join us at Maifest for great German food, beer, music and dancing at Nature Friends Tourist Club, a beautiful, park-like outdoor setting in the Oakland Hills. Always a sell-out event, Maifest is the first event of our summer festival season.

By popular demand, we are pleased to announce the return of The Gruber Family Band. The band will play many favorite Alpine/Bavarian songs while the Schuhplattler Dancers will perform a variety of German and Austrian folk dances.

There’s lots more to do! Play horseshoes or just lounge in our alpine-style sun chairs soaking up the wunderbaren views of the SF Bay . Tune up those yodel chords for our Yodeling Contest. Sugar-up your kids at the candy roulette table, then release them into the wilds of our playground. Invite your friends and neighbors!

ADMISSION: $10 per adult (free for kids under 14). Authentic German food, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at reasonable prices. We expect this event to sell out so, for all non-members, purchase tickets online or show up early to ensure entry. In the event we do sell out before the festival begins, we will make an announcement.

PARKING: Parking in the ONF lot is free but fills up quickly so arrive early. However, there is plenty of additional parking on Joaquin Miller Drive. We provide a free shuttle bus service (1PM to 5PM every 15 minutes) that will drive guests from the intersection of Butters and Joaquin Miller (near the fire station) to the festival grounds and back again. Please use alternative ways of getting to the club whenever possible: bike, hike, bus, Uber or carpool. No dogs, meow!

BRING CASH: Cash is the preferred method of payment. We do not accept debit cards or checks at the Oakland Nature Friends Club on the day of the event. There is no ATM on the premises.
