Can we remind drivers to please check their cars for loose screws underneath to keep the number of tears in the carpet to a minimum.

Some great news: NRCC has a new driver's rostrum and we'll be using it this week.

The big improvement is that it will be about 40cm higher giving everyone a better view of the track. To stop people falling off it there will be a rail along the front edge.

The rostrum will also be about 2 metres longer, making it comfortable to fit 8 drivers, and enabling 10 to squeeze on if that's what we want to do. It's going to be wider too by 40cm, with space to comfortably walk behind someone who's driving. On top of that we will have a set of steps at each end of the rostrum, each set being more secure and much wider than the previous steps. This rostrum will also be suitable for major events such as nationals, should we want to host them in the future.

We've put some effort into finding a rostrum that can be built without any tools being needed, and is not too heavy or too pricey. However the decks and the steps are fairly heavy and are large, so ideally need two people to move them. Please help with assembly/disassembly if you can.

The rostrum was a major expenditure for the club but should improve the experience for everyone. The reason we can afford it is because of the good attendance we've had from members and non-members alike over the last year, so thankyou to all of you for your support.
