Festa: Sarah & Jock in the Main Bar

As a special early Christmas treat, we've got extra entertainment lined up for you! Come and see the amazing duo, Sarah and Jock. Both have performed here solo at Deck Acoustics and now bring their duo to the Main Bar from 7-10pm.

Sarah Grant

A vocalist, guitarist and songwriter based in the Northern Rivers hinterland of Byron Bay. She established her own act “Pink Zinc” while studying music at Southern Cross University in 2009 and has toured intensively up and down the East Coast of Australia, giving over 400 performances from Bundaberg to Sydney. In addition to touring with Pink Zinc, Sarah has toured to Japan three times with a cappella vocal ensemble “Isabella a cappella” where she performed at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo, “Iron Chef” Sakai’s restaurant in Tokyo and also for a live television multiple times with an audience of 2 million people on Hiroshima television where she was the featured vocalist. Sarah was a backing vocalist for 70’s soul singer Candi Staton (‘Young Hearts Run Free’, ‘You Got The Love’) at the 2012 Byron Bay Blues Festival.

More recently Sarah has been performing many solo gigs with her “Fat Lady” (Cole Clarke guitar), recorded and released her EP titled “Freedom.” With the EP officially being released at the Boardmasters Festival in the UK in 2015 and has been a hit at venues around the coast and whilst busking on the streets of Byron Bay. A life spent travelling the world can be the catalyst for a great story. Jock Barnes is a professional surfer, musician and songwriter who has collected a world of inspiration to create original lyrical content and original re-workings of his musical influences of Acoustic blues, rock and pop. Having performed his music to audiences the world over and having shared festival line-ups with likes of Groove Armada, De La Soul, The Darkness and Everything, Everything, Jock’s music bares influences as diverse as the audiences he has played to. With a blend of covers spanning from Jimi Hendrix to Bernard Fanning, Ray Charles to Johnny Diesel as well as his own original compositions, Jock’s live performance has a way of engaging an audience and is one not to be missed.
