Sligo is in for a special treat on Sunday with the amazing double bill of the MASS Band and Reggae/Roots heroes After The Ibis! Whilst Sligonians will know what to expect from the party kings – MASS, After the Ibis will make their Sligo debut. After the Ibis is an 8-piece roots reggae band with soul, jazz, rock & dub influences. Hailing from Dublin’s North-side, they formed in 2007 and have spent the last few years performing at festivals and venue’s around Ireland. The band has established a great live reputation that has seen them perform alongside the likes of Toots and the Maytals, Max Romeo, Third World, Tosh/Marley Band, The Skatalites and Junior Marvin among others.
in July 2014 they released their début album of original songs 'Busy Waiting', to a sold out launch party at The Grand Social, Dublin. The 10 track album was written, recorded and produced by the band themselves. The songs were then mixed & mastered by the legendary reggae producer Jim Fox, at Lion & Fox Studios in Washington D.C.
