Festa: Marceille (CTRL MVMNT/ Berlin)

Marceille, also known as Marcel Gafke, is a Berlin based musician and DJ.
At the age of 8, he began playing the drums, first taught to him by his father and later in a music academy.
In 2002, after some years of experience as a percussionist, he started to develop his passion for electronic music after experiencing acts like DJ Falcon & Thomas Bangalter.
Shortly thereafter he bought his own turntables and mixer, on which he played his first vinyls of Chez Damier, Ian Pooley, Boo Williams and X-Press 2.
He had his first gigs at schoolparties and clubs in Darmstadt, a city in the Rhein-Main-Area where he was born and raised.
The sound of this time was mainly garage, disco, french and U.S. house.
The imprint by labels like Roule, Strictly Rythm or Glasgow Underground is still typical for his music.
Today, Marceille’s sound is wide-spread with influences of modern deep-, and tech –house, with lots of love for oldschool vibes.
Marceille is not only living his creativity when he is behind the decks, but in 2012 he started his own clothing label „Handcraft Berlin“, which has quickly earned attention among fashionistas from all corners of the globe .
